Elevate the voices in the room -- help students to reflect and grow! Provide Instant Feedback to nurture reflection, ignite collaboration, and promote equity. Equity Maps is a teacher-created tool designed for Socratic seminars, Spider Web™ and Harkness® discussions, Literature Circles, Dialogic lesson designs, or any time students interact.
Effortlessly chart and record students' interactions to graphically illustrate levels and types of participation. Enhance reflection with discussion maps, instant analytics, and animated playback at multiple speeds.
New in Premium! With the in-app upgrade or by downloading Premium today, you can export audio and class analytics. Post them in your LMS or email them directly to your students along with their talk time, Checknotes on types of contributions, the discussion map, and your personal feedback.
The standard features of Equity Maps include up to 20 participants in any class with open seating options. You can use quick edit features to create groups and classes. Playback the discussion maps in real time or fast forward. You can select and listen to any speaker while viewing notes linked to their participation. Individual and group analytics are also available by including or excluding participants to see how the dynamics change.
Premium features, available with the in-app upgrade or by downloading Premium, offer up to 40 participants and the ability to add Identity Markers to track data by groups of students. You can export audio or analytics via email to students or post them in your LMS or export them to CSV (beta).
With Equity Maps, you can track student contributions with enhanced Checknotes and access the 17 templates available. Additionally, you can conference with your students or teachers through improved participant analytics. You can review the contributions of any one student by seeing each time they spoke and playing back what they said. Take notes or write comments during or after the discussion that link directly to the student speaking and share them with them immediately after.
Reflective data is at your fingertips with Equity Maps. Simply tap on the participants' icons when they speak and Equity Maps will visually chart the interactions and calculate levels of participation. You can track the nature of each participant's contributions with Checknotes, choosing among the 17 templates or creating your own. Additionally, you can take notes during the discussion that attach to the speaker for review later. The "Feedback Frames" provide key statistics for teachers, students, or group members such as time spoken, times spoken, gender equity, or customized measurements.
Equity Maps is an excellent tool for teachers looking to enhance their Socratic Seminars, Literature Circles, Harkness® discussions, or full classroom discussions. It allows for monitoring and assessing Common Core Speaking and Listening Standards, ATL, Dialogic lessons, or seminar criteria. It also promotes student involvement and self-reflection. It is perfect for schools with VPP for a 50% discount.
Facilitators and group leaders can use Equity Maps to encourage deeper reflection on group goals, norms, and processes. It can also be used to provide your boss with an Equity Check and share how equitable your last meeting was. It is a valuable tool for Critical Friends Group® coaches and facilitators (CFG work) or in PLCs.
Administrators and instructional coaches can utilize Equity Maps to provide teachers with a comprehensive image of their classroom instruction. It revitalizes reflective practices for teachers while reducing anxiety in post-observation meetings. It makes classroom observations more meaningful and reflective.
